Jeffrey Malmberg was to be arraigned on kidnapping and larceny charges on
Thursday, however, his hearing has been postponed until Friday. He is accused of
kidnapping missing Grand Rapids, Mich. girl Jozlynn Martinez, 2, and stealing
money from his girlfriend—Consuela Martinez, 21, who is Jozlynn’s
mother.<BR><BR>Police believe Malmberg, 40, took Jozlynn without her mother’s
permission on Monday night or early Tuesday. He is also accused of stealing
$2,800 from Martinez.<BR><BR>Malmberg was arrested Wednesday night in Lansing,
but Jozlynn was not with him.<BR><BR>According to <A
href="http://www.mlive.com/" target=_blank>Mlive.com</A>, police are also
questioning Martinez who told them she last saw her daughter in bed at about
11:30 p.m. When she woke up on Tuesday morning, Jozlynn was gone. She made the
assumption that Malmberg was running errands with the little girl. <BR><BR>“All
of a sudden, he never came home,†said Martinez. “I just don’t want to see
pictures of her. I want to wrap my arms around her and cuddle with
her.â€<BR><BR>Martinez has lived with Malmberg, who is the father of her
7-month-old son, for about 18 months, according to Mlive.<BR><BR>“It makes it
worse, because we don’t know where she is… I want her home. I want her home so
bad,†Martinez said.<BR><BR>Mlive reports that court records indicate Martinez
had taken out a personal order of protection in the past against Malmberg, which
he violated not once, but twice, resulting in a seven-day jail stint.
