The moment V looks to the head doctor.. after destroying the medical facility with his bombs setting the place ablaze and accidentally burning himself along with all of it.. He looks to the head doctor.. and the comic above states what she feels.. he does not die.. he becomes a Cauase walking. The facility was supposed to be a secret prison of sorts, but instead they decided to use the prisoners (some imprisoned for no reason but for being "undesirables" or unpatriotic) to be like rats so they could come up with new scientific findings.. (the V virus and cure).. after this his home country was infected because of what they found they could do with him.. making him stronger in every regard, but all other human beings deathly sick without the cure. V sets out after this to target each person responsible and put an END to the dictatorship and facism in his home country. It takes him 20 years to come out of hiding and finally do what it is he is planning.. See the movie V FOR VENDETTA.. better yet, read the comics.
