Waiting

The ice clung to the blessed wind as it blew my raven hair. The sky was brooding with grey. The surrounding trees were shedding their last leaves onto the frosted ground. I kissed the rose and laid it beyond your stone. A prayer formed on my lips. Since you'd left, my world had been growing ever darker. The wind played at the stray locks of hair surrounding my face, and a smile tugged at my lips as I saw your transparent figure emerge from the fog.
