Symbolism of this. Empty wooden cross. Jesus paid it all and conquered death. The crown of thorns around the cross. the Easter Lilies (said by legend to have sprang up where Jesus sweat in the garden, Dogwood trees and flowers said to be the tree Jesus was crucified on but felt so bad that Jesus told it that it would be small never to be allowed to do that again and the flower itself was show the crucifiction so that all that gazed on it would know. There are only four pedals shaped as a cross, there is a whole at the top of each pedal representing the nail holes in Jesus and there is red near the holes representing the blood of the Savior. So Dogwood is her in the trees and in the flowers. The Palm branch for Palm Sunday, Myrrh in a bush and across the front representing the wise men and Jesus death did not need it, Frankincense flower also remembering his birth. And water because Jesus is the living water. Rocks because on Christ the solid rock I stand. and green around the because it is new life in Christ. Happy Easter to All. Connie
