Easter is a Magical Season, with so much excitement about the Easter bunny and Easter Egg hunts, A family time of meals and going to Church. Have you ever wondered though why a Rabbit and an Egg? The early Church was highly persecuted and thus they had to use symbolism to represent their love for the their Savior and Church that others wouldn't understand for instance the symbol X stood for Christ meaning his crucifixion and resurrection so the X such as in X-mas truly means Christmas Or any other thing like X-ianity For Christianity. As the church was no longer so persecuted and we could speak freely of Christ His Church and love for us there was no need for the symbols so much so throughout the century's the real meanings of what these things meant to our early Church Fathers have gotten put on the back burner and the Secular world took them over trying to take the true meaning of them out. But if you understand this and the real meanings of these things then the Rabbit or Bunny and the egg make perfect sense. The Rabbit or Bunny and baby chicks represents New Life and abundant life. We have a new life in Christ and as Christians we should live it abundantly as the great commission said "Go therefore and make disciples baptizing them everyone." Rabbits do multiply well and each spring bring new life showing as Christians we have a New Life in Christ.. the Egg is symbolic of eternal life that through Christ we have eternal life there is no beginning and no end. Early Christian's presented Easter Eggs to their friends on Easter saying "Christ has Risen" and the response was "He has risen indeed". Often even our puritan forefathers, in the USA, were buried with a large egg usually a goose egg to signify they had eternal life in Christ. Wishing you a Very Happy Easter for indeed it is a Magical and wonderful season where we are reminded of our new life and eternal life in Christ
